Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actor, known for her performances in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! In the late 80s when she started her acting career and became well-known for the character Tezaab in which she appeared with veteran actor Anil Kapooor. The next time she appeared on the screen was in Dil along with Aamir. A middle-class family was raised in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. She began acting when she was an infant and was struggling for a few years as many of her early films failed. She eventually became one of the most famous actresses in Indian films. In the aftermath of her wedding, she took a brief time off from her acting career prior to returning. In the last few years, Dixit played a significant role on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of these. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the social sector.
